Basketball Recap: Cuyahoga Heights Comes Up Short

On Friday, the Cuyahoga Heights Red Wolves came up short against the Mogadore Wildcats and fell 36-23. While losing is never fun, the Red Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 688th, while the Wildcats are ranked 194th).

Mogadore was led to victory by Amelia Morris and Kasey Bolyard. Morris dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds, while Bolyard went 6 of 8 on her way to 12 points. Those 12 points gave Bolyard a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ari Tompkins, who posted five points and five boards.

Cuyahoga Heights has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Mogadore, they pushed their record up to 15-3 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home.
