Baseball Recap: San Clemente Comes Up Short

San Clemente lost against San Juan Hills last Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. San Clemente fell 5-1 to San Juan Hills. The Tritons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Luke Acuna was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in February.

Even though they lost, San Clemente hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. This was only their first loss (out of five games) when they post two or more strikeouts.

San Clemente's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for San Juan Hills, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: San Clemente beat San Juan Hills by a score of 3-0 on Friday.
