Volleyball Recap: Mt. Vernon Yellowjackets vs. Pickerington North Panthers

Mt. Vernon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Pickerington North Panthers. If the Yellowjackets were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Panthers when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-18.

Hunter Thompson paced Mt. Vernon's offense, picking up nine kills. Thompson got some help from Isaiah Campbell and his 12 assists.

Mt. Vernon's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Pickerington North, their win was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-0.

Coming up, Mt. Vernon will host St. Charles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cardinals will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Yellowjackets surely won't give up without a fight. As for Pickerington North, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against Olentangy Berlin on the 29th.
