Softball Recap: South Vermillion Has No Trouble Against Attica

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Terre Haute North Vigo, South Vermillion was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They put the hurt on the Attica Red Ramblers with a sharp 16-2 win. That looming 16-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Wildcats yet this season.

South Vermillion let Madilyn Pinion and Rosie Travioli run wild. Pinion went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI, while Travioli went 3-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Those three runs gave Pinion a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lyla Taylor, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

South Vermillion was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

South Vermillion's record now sits at 7-8. As for Attica, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.

South Vermillion will have a chance to go back-to-back against Attica: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
