Soccer Game Preview: Amundsen vs. Solorio

The Amundsen Vikings will take on the Solorio Sun Warriors at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Amundsen is coming into the matchup fresh off a high-scoring shootout with Lincoln Park that saw the pair combine for 30 shots on goal. The Vikings put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 6-2 win on Tuesday. Raisa Yuille was a massive factor in the win as she booted in three goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Solorio had already won ten in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.8 goals) and they went ahead and made it 11 on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 5-1 margin over the Cyclones. The result was nothing new for Solorio, who have now won ten contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Solorio's victory bumped their record up to 14-2. As for Amundsen, they now have a winning record of 6-5-1.

Amundsen took their win against Solorio in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 6-0 score. Do the Vikings have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Sun Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
