Recap: Manzano Monarchs vs. Shiprock Chieftains

The Manzano Monarchs's three-game losing streak came to an end on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 37-35 victory over Shiprock. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Manzano has posted yet this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Manzano to victory, but perhaps none more so than Daira Solis, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Zaria Gomez, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Manzano's win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-10. As for Shiprock, they now have a losing record at 6-7.

Manzano and Los Lunas will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Los Lunas is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Shiprock, Shiprock and Aztec will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Mexico (Aztec is ranked 51st, while Shiprock is ranked 76th).
