Football Recap: Grand Saline's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Two

If Joaquin wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Grand Saline, they should've done a better job of containing Jett Taylor. The Indians were the clear victors by a 29-7 margin over the Rams on Thursday for which the team can thank Taylor, who rushed for 108 yards and one score, and also threw for 93 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Taylor is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 108 every time he's taken the field this season.

The win made it two in a row for Grand Saline and bumps their season record up to 3-1. The team dominated over those games too, winning by an average of 25 points. As for Joaquin, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grand Saline will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Harmony at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. As for Joaquin, they will square off against Corrigan-Camden at 7:30 p.m. on the 26th.
