Port Huron Northern had already won 12 in a row dating back to last season and they went ahead and made it 13 on Saturday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Utica Chieftains. The Huskies were shut out 2-0 the last time they took on the Chieftains, so the Huskies were just returning the favor.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-21.

When it comes to explaining why Utica lost, don't look at Claire Ponzio. Despite the final result, she had eight digs and two aces. Lila Wennerstrom also deserves some recognition as she had her first dig of the season.

Port Huron Northern's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Utica, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6-1.
