Basketball Recap: Kings Mountain Extends Winning Streak to Two

Kings Mountain won the last time they faced Shelby, and Kee'Donn Linney did his part to make sure it happened again. The Kings Mountain Mountaineers walked away with a 64-57 victory over the Shelby Golden Lions on Wednesday thanks in part to Linney, who almost dropped a double-double on 28 points and nine boards. The match was his fourth in a row with at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of J'Myun Huskey, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 boards. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 8.8 rebounds per game.

The win made it two in a row for Kings Mountain and bumps their season record up to 2-2. As for Shelby, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.

Kings Mountain didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 71-57 victory against South Point on the 13th. As for Shelby, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, an 85-30 win against Veritas Christian Academy on the 13th.
