Volleyball Recap: Kerr-Vance Academy Comes Up Short

Kerr-Vance Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Halifax Academy Vikings, falling 3-0. The Spartans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-10, 25-8.

Marie Scott White paced Kerr-Vance Academy's offense, picking up five kills. White got some help from Emma Caudle and her eight assists. Caudle was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Leading Halifax Academy to victory were Payton Odom and Emma Inscoe. Odom had 24 assists and five aces, while Inscoe had nine digs and eight aces. That's the most digs Inscoe has posted over her last six matchups.

Kerr-Vance Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Halifax Academy, they pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Kerr-Vance Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Brunswick Academy on the 3rd. As for Halifax Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Ridgecroft on the 3rd.
