Softball Game Preview: Harbor Teacher Monarchs vs. Fremont Pathfinders

Harbor Teacher has gone a perfect 10-0 against Fremont recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Monarchs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Pathfinders at 2:30 p.m. Harbor Teacher knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Fremont likes a good challenge.

Harbor Teacher's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Locke 10-0. The victory continues a trend for the Monarchs in their matchups with the Saints: they've now won eight in a row.

Lexi Cetina and Samantha Galima did most of the damage at the plate: Cetina went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Galima scored three runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. Cetina has been hot recently, having posted three or more RBI the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Chimazu Udeh, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

They weren't the only one making solid contact: Harbor Teacher kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Fremont unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They lost 21-6 to King/Drew.

Harbor Teacher pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Fremont, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Everything went Harbor Teacher's way against Fremont when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Harbor Teacher made off with a 19-3 win. Do the Monarchs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Pathfinders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
