Basketball Game Preview: Austin Black Bears vs. Madison Academy Mustangs

Austin is 0-3 against Madison Academy since November of 2018 but things could change on Friday. The Austin Black Bears will be playing in front of their home fans against the Madison Academy Mustangs at 4:00 p.m.

Last Tuesday, Austin came up short against James Clemens and fell 53-42. The Black Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Madison Academy entered their tilt with Westminster Christian Academy on Tuesday with ten consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 11. They breezed by the Wildcats to the tune of 50-19. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 28 points or more this season.

Madison Academy's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.8 points per game. As for Austin, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.

Austin came up short against Madison Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2021, falling 48-35. Can Austin avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
