Softball Game Preview: Colts Neck Cougars vs. Wall Township Crimson Knights

Colts Neck and Wall Township are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2016, but likely not for long. The Cougars will take on the Crimson Knights at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Colts Neck's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Wall Township's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Thursday, Colts Neck didn't have quite enough to beat Red Bank Catholic and fell 4-2.

Ellie Mager was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season.

Meanwhile, Wall Township didn't have quite enough to beat Pinelands Regional on Wednesday and fell 8-7. The Crimson Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Wall Township now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Colts Neck, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Colts Neck was able to grind out a solid victory over Wall Township in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 5-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
