Volleyball Game Preview: Big Horn Rams vs. Rocky Mountain Grizzlies

The Big Horn Rams will square off against the Rocky Mountain Grizzlies on Thursday.

Big Horn is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Wyoming's top teams: Sundance, who was ranked 14th at the time (Big Horn was ranked eighth). The Rams came up short against the Bulldogs on Saturday, falling 3-0. The Rams' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Sundance scored at least 17 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-17, 25-23.

Despite the loss, Big Horn saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Lilly Thomas had 19 digs and four assists.

Meanwhile, Rocky Mountain made easy work of Kemmerer on Saturday and carried off a 3-0 win. The Grizzlies haven't had any issues with the Rangers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Rocky Mountain's win bumped their record up to 15-9. As for Big Horn, their defeat dropped their record down to 27-9.

Big Horn beat Rocky Mountain 2-0 in their previous meeting back in September. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
