Softball Recap: Musselman Takes a Loss

Clarke County hit Musselman with a five-run second inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Applemen fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 11-9. The defeat continues a trend for the Applemen in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost three in a row.

Lydia McClintock made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Musselman's loss dropped their record down to 7-12-1. As for Clarke County, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Musselman will square off against Martinsburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Clarke County, they will take on Page County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight.
