Softball Game Preview: Stroudsburg Mountaineers vs. Whitehall Zephyrs

Stroudsburg hasn't had much luck against Whitehall recently, but that could start to change on Friday. Stroudsburg will be playing in front of their home fans against Whitehall at 4:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

Whitehall will be up against a hot Stroudsburg squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Stroudsburg walked away with a 10-6 victory over Easton Area on Wednesday.

Jordan Cook spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on 12 hits.

At the plate, Elena Trotter and Isabella Thomas did most of the damage at the plate: Trotter scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Thomas went 2-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Dorothy Elko, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Whitehall narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Parkland 13-11. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Zephyrs.

Stroudsburg's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Whitehall, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.
