Softball Game Preview: Ross Little Giants vs. Bowling Green Bobcats

Ross is 0-3 against Bowling Green since April of 2019 but things could change on Wednesday. The Little Giants will host the Bobcats at 5:00 p.m. Bowling Green took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Ross, who comes in off a win.

Ross barely beat Port Clinton the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Little Giants' pitchers stepped up to hand the Redskins a 10-0 shutout on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Little Giants, who have now won three matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Bowling Green didn't have quite enough to beat Perrysburg on Monday and fell 4-3. The defeat continues a trend for the Bobcats in their meetings with the Yellow Jackets: they've now lost six in a row.

Jules Firsdon put in work no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave her a new career-low. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Baylee Irvin was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Ella White also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Bowling Green's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Ross, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Ross couldn't quite finish off Bowling Green in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 and fell 4-2. Can the Little Giants avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
