It was a good run, but J.I. Burton unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 37-36 to the Holston Cavaliers. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Black Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 50-45 back in December of 2024.

J.I. Burton's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-7. As for Holston, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. J.I. Burton and Thomas Walker will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. J.I. Burton is facing Thomas Walker at the right time seeing as Thomas Walker is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Holston, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Honaker at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
