Baseball Recap: Woodgrove's Loss Ends Six-Game Winning Streak at Home

Woodgrove dropped their record down to 11-3 on Thursday, which also ended the team's six-game streak of wins at home. They fell 6-3 to the Heritage Pride. The Wolverines were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Pride earlier this season, when they won 7-5.

Woodgrove saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chad Nielsen, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

As for Heritage, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games.

On Heritage's side, Aaron Van Tuyle made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. Van Tuyle has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Heritage: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 10-11 otherwise.

As of now, neither Woodgrove nor the Pride have any future games scheduled.
