Preview: Kelso Hilanders vs. Emerald Ridge Jaguars
The Kelso Hilanders will be home for the holidays to greet the Emerald Ridge Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Kelso will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
Last Tuesday, Kelso strolled past Bethel with points to spare, taking the game 69-54. Given Kelso's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while Bethel is ranked 206th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Emerald Ridge came up short against Curtis on Tuesday and fell 61-51. Emerald Ridge has not had much luck with Curtis recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Kelso's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Emerald Ridge, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season.
Kelso strolled past Emerald Ridge in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 by a score of 57-42. Will Kelso repeat their success, or does Emerald Ridge have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
