Football Recap: Altavista Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Altavista had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a 21-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lunenburg Central Chargers on Friday. The Colonels were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Chargers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Altavista will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lord Botetourt at 7:00 p.m. on September 12. As for Lunenburg Central, they are headed away from home for the first time to face off against William Monroe at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
