Basketball Recap: Mentor Has No Trouble Against North

Mentor won the last time they faced North and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Mentor Cardinals blew past the North Rangers 59-38. Given the Cardinals' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th, while the Rangers are ranked 279th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mentor's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.7 points per game. As for North, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Mentor Cardinals challenge the Euclid Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Mentor is facing Euclid at the right time seeing as Euclid is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for North, they will venture away from home to face off against Madison at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Madison has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 202 points over their last three matches.
