Baseball Recap: Brookhaven Comes Up Short

Brookhaven lost to North Pike on Tuesday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Panthers fell just short of the Jaguars by a score of 11-10. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Durell Washington and Dreamus Harron Jr did some serious damage despite the final result: Washington went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base, while Harron Jr went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Harron Jr has become a key player for Brookhaven: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 7-10 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Cayden Lee, who went 2-for-3 with three runs.

Brookhaven's loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for North Pike, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-8-2.

Coming up, Brookhaven will challenge Clinton at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for North Pike, they will take on Franklin County at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Jaguars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season.
