Softball Recap: Shiprock Comes Up Short

Shiprock lost to Portales on Friday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Chieftains fell just short of the Rams by a score of 8-7. The Chieftains have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Taleah Phillips made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one triple.

Shiprock's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Portales, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-7.

Looking ahead, Shiprock will head out on the road to face off against Non Varsity Opponent at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Portales, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Robertson at 4:30 p.m.
