Basketball Recap: Davis Sr. Takes a Loss

Davis Sr. was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 79-60 to the Ventura Cougars.

When it comes to explaining why Davis Sr. lost, don't look at Kaleb Gee. Despite the final result, he went 6 for 11 from beyond the arc on his way to 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Damitrius Clark, who posted nine points.

Even though they lost, Davis Sr. was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive contests.

Davis Sr.'s loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Ventura, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-8.

Davis Sr. will face off against Whitney at 7:00 p.m. on January 6th. As for Ventura, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 69-45 victory against Foothill Tech on the 1st.
