Softball Recap: Tuesday's Loss Ends Stony Point's Winning Streak

If Stony Point was feeling good fresh off their 16-1 takedown of McNeil last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tigers fell 7-2 to the Vista Ridge Rangers on Tuesday. The Tigers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Rangers earlier this season, when they won 7-6.

Ria Champaneri was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she didn't allow a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Stony Point saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Perlinger, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

The loss snapped Stony Point's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 18-6-1 record. As for Vista Ridge, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-10.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Stony Point is set to face off against their familiar foe Round Rock Westwood at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Vista Ridge will take on rival Hutto at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
