League recap: Judson races to league-leading run for Cocoa

4A District 5 recap November 13, 2013

Bruce Judson of Cocoa ran for the longest rushing play in 4A District 5 this season against Rockledge last week. Judson scampered for 90 yards on the play and finished with 168 on the day as his team topped the Raiders.

Cocoa extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Rockledge, 55-14. The victory was the ninth in a row for the team.

Nick Rittenhouse threw for 315 yards and 5 touchdowns.

Judson was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 168 yards on 6 carries as the Tigers beat Titusville. Lorrenzo Pratt also contributed to the rushing game with 167 yards on the ground.

Leading 4A District 5 in both passing and receiving yards, the Vipers' Rittenhouse and Alec Dansereau have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-3 quarterback Rittenhouse has thrown for 2,533 yards this season, while Dansereau has 72 catches for 958 yards. Cocoa's Pratt leads the league in rushing yards with 1,496.

Dansereau of the Space Coast's is a few catches away from breaking 1,000 yards for the season. He needs only 42 receiving yards in this week's game against Clewiston to get there. So far this year, he has garnered 72 catches for 958 yards.

The Tigers took down Larry Laskowski's team 55-14 last week, the largest margin of any game. Judson threw for 48 yards in the win.
