Preview: Harlingen South vs. Weslaco East
Harlingen South has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Weslaco East Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Weslaco East took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Harlingen South, who comes in off a win.
Harlingen South scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 13-2 margin over Donna. Harlingen South might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won six games by three goals or more this season.
Meanwhile, Weslaco East fell victim to Edcouch-Elsa's stalwart defense on Tuesday and couldn't make it onto the board. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 5-0 walloping at the hands of the Yellowjackets.
Harlingen South's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-0-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 26 goals over those four matchups. As for Weslaco East, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3-1.
Harlingen South took their win against Weslaco East when the teams last played back in March of 2023 by a conclusive 4-0. Does Harlingen South have another victory up their sleeve, or will Weslaco East turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
