Basketball Recap: MARLEY WARREN and RACHEL BONDE Secure Win for Trinity Lutheran

Trinity Lutheran had won three straight at home, but on Thursday they bumped up to 5-1 to make it four. They walked away with a 54-41 victory over the Providence Pioneers. This was payback for the Cougars, who suffered a 69-63 loss the last time these two teams met.

Leading Trinity Lutheran to victory were RACHEL BONDE and MARLEY WARREN. BONDE dropped a double-double with 18 points and 12 boards, while WARREN went 6-for-13 on her way to 20 points and five rebounds. WARREN's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least 18 points. Another player making a difference was MARISSA BAKER, who posted eight points.

As for Providence, they now have a losing record of 2-3. The contest marked their lowest-scoring game so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Providence lost, don't look at Kamden Pierce. Despite the final result, she had 13 points and four steals. Pierce is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 16 games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamila Carrilo, who scored eight points and eight rebounds.

Coming up, Trinity Lutheran will host Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Providence has already played their next matchup (against Lanesville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
