Basketball Game Preview: Port Washington Pirates vs. Cedarburg Bulldogs

Port Washington hasn't had much luck against Cedarburg recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Port Washington Pirates will face off against the Cedarburg Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Tuesday, Port Washington didn't have quite enough to beat Grafton and fell 62-60. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Pirates came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 149th, while the Black Hawks are ranked 373rd).

Meanwhile, Cedarburg was fully in charge on Tuesday, breezing past Hartford 88-61. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 27 points or more this season.

Cedarburg's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-5. As for Port Washington, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-7.

Port Washington ended up a good deal behind Cedarburg when the teams last played back in March of 2024, losing 86-70. Can Port Washington avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
