League recap: LBJ Austin's Burt delivers best pitching performance from past week

4A Region IV District 26 league recap: 3/27/13

Tristan Burt was the top pitcher in 4A Region IV District 26 this week, leading LBJ Austin. He retired 42 batters this week.

McCallum had a successful week, as it won five total games to lead the league. The Knights beat the Jaguars 8-7 and Anderson 7-6.

Crockett's 50 strikeouts this week were a league-worst, but LBJ Austin has struck out more times (120) than any other team this year.

Although the 94 runs scored by Crockett topped the league, the Jaguars maintained their lead in the league with 135 runs this season.

Burt, Nate Hattersley and Zacharie Johnson hit home runs this week.



Johnson drove in four runs for LBJ Austin over the past seven days. He has 23 RBIs this season, tops in the league.

The Cougars' Dj Wilhite struck out ten Eastside Memorial hitters en route to a 16-4 victory on March 22. Over six innings of work, he gave up three hits and four runs.
