Basketball Recap: Labette County Comes Up Short

Labette County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a 56-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Field Kindley Golden Tornado. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Golden Tornado this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 47-36 back in January.

When it comes to explaining why Labette County lost, don't look at Kegan Bates. Despite the final result, he posted ten points and eight boards. Bates has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played. Barrett Hestand was another key player, putting up seven points and six rebounds.

Labette County's defeat dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Field Kindley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Labette County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 78-55 loss against Ottawa on the 4th. As for Field Kindley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 64-60 win against Holton on the 6th.
