Basketball Recap: Thursday's Victory Is Center's Fifth in Last Six Outings

Center lost to Sargent back in January of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Center Vikings snuck past the Sargent Farmers with a 46-42 win.

Several Farmers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lucas Garcia, who posted ten points and eight boards. Garcia is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Fernando Venzor, who put up nine points and three steals.

Center has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for Sargent, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Center won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Crested Butte at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Sargent has already played their next game (against Monte Vista), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
