Basketball Recap: Wilmington Sets Scoring Season-High Against Lisle

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wilmington). They took down the Lisle Lions 56-42 on Friday. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Wilmington was led to victory by Brysen Meents and Ryan Kettman. Meents almost dropped a double-double with 25 points and nine boards, while Kettman shot 40% from the field en route to 16 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. With that strong performance, Meents is now averaging an impressive 15.8 points per game. Another player making a difference was Ryker Feil, who posted two points and four steals.

Wilmington was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Wilmington's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Lisle, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

Wilmington will take on Somonauk in a holiday battle at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Lisle, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Chesterton Academy of the Holy Family at 6:45 p.m. on Saturday.
