Baseball Game Preview: Naylor Eagles vs. Van Buren Bulldogs

The Naylor Eagles will head out to square off against the Van Buren Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Naylor fell victim to Ellington and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Whippets. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Whippets: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, Van Buren sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over South Iron on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

Naylor's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Van Buren, their victory bumped their record up to 14-7.

Naylor suffered a grim 14-3 defeat to Van Buren when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
