Basketball Recap: Keller Central Takes a Loss

Keller Central lost against V.R. Eaton back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Keller Central Chargers lost to the V.R. Eaton Eagles at home by a 51-32 margin. While losing is never fun, the Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 705th, while the Eagles are ranked 163rd).

Despite the defeat, Keller Central saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Aniyah Rodriguez posted five points along with five rebounds and three steals. That's the most boards Rodriguez has posted since back in November of 2024.

Keller Central has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-19 record this season. As for V.R. Eaton, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-8.

Keller Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 41-38 victory against Northwest on the 21st. As for V.R. Eaton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 41-40 loss against Southlake Carroll on the 21st.
