Football Preview: Gresham Gophers vs. Reynolds Raiders        
        
		
             Gresham is 1-8 against Reynolds since September of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit  on Friday. The Gresham Gophers will welcome the Reynolds Raiders  at 7:00  p.m. Reynolds took a loss in their last  match and will be looking to turn the tables on Gresham, who comes in off a win.
 Gresham gave up the first  points last Friday, but they didn't let that get them  down. They managed  a  26-21 win over David Douglas.
  Michael Sullivan had an outrageously good game as he picked up 94 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 65 yards and a touchdown. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D,  making two total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defending a pass.  Tristin Huerta was another key player, rushing for 59 yards and a touchdown on only five carries.
 He was just one part of a punishing run game: Gresham was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 213  rushing yards. That's the most  rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2023.
 Meanwhile, Reynolds was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight  defeat  dating back to last season. They took a  blow against Nelson, falling  63-13. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Oregon football rankings  (they are ranked 103rd, while the  are ranked 16th).
 Gresham's first  victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Reynolds, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
 Gresham came up short against Reynolds in their previous meeting  back in September of 2023, falling  27-20. Can Gresham avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
