League recap: Gillespie rises, Roxana falls in league standings

Gillespie made the biggest jump in the standings this week, moving from ninth to third place in South Central thanks to a 2-0 record over the past seven days. Meanwhile, Roxana fell hardest in the standings, dropping from fourth all the way to ninth place after going 0-2 in the past week. Pana (1-0) is the No. 1 team in the league.

The Miners outperformed the rest of the league this week, as their two total wins led the league. Gillespie beat Morrisonville 14-2 and Jersey 10-4.

Carlinville boasted the best pitching over the past week, holding opponents to the league's fewest hits and issuing the fewest walks.
