Preview: Amistad Wolves vs. Woodstock Academy Centaurs
After three games on the road, Amistad is heading back home. They will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Woodstock Academy Centaurs at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Wednesday, Amistad beat Shelton 43-34.
It was another big night for LaShaya Patterson , who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 14 rebounds. The contest was her third in a row with at least ten points. Johnae McFadden was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Woodstock Academy faced Ellington in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Woodstock Academy came out on top against Ellington by a score of 47-35 on Saturday. The victory was familiar territory for Woodstock Academy who now have three in a row.
Amistad now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Woodstock Academy, they pushed their record up to 4-1 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
Amistad came up short against Woodstock Academy when the teams last played back in January, falling 41-28. Can Amistad avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
