Baseball Game Preview: Chaffey Tigers vs. Don Lugo Conquistadores

For the second straight game, Chaffey will face off against Don Lugo. The Tigers will welcome the Conquistadores at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.

Chaffey came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 17-6 to Don Lugo. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Tigers have suffered since April 9th.

For Don Lugo's part, Bryan Scott was a standout: he got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs Scott has posted since back in April of 2024. Ishmael Fox was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI.

Don Lugo pushed their record up to 14-7 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Chaffey, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-14.
