Baseball Recap: Independence Falcons vs. Chavez Titans

Independence put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victor by an 11-1 margin over the Chavez Titans. The Falcons have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Titans, too.

Brandon Gutierrez was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
