Basketball Recap: Rapid City Central Comes Up Short

Rapid City Central and Mitchell squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Rapid City Central had to settle for second. They fell 61-49 to the Mitchell Kernels. The Cobblers have struggled against the Kernels recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meetings.

Rapid City Central's loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Mitchell, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season.

Rapid City Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Mitchell will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Huron at 1:45 p.m. on March 20th. Mitchell will be up against Huron's rather soft defense (which has allowed 54.29 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
