Softball Recap: Richwoods' Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Richwoods took a 12-run defeat the last time they faced off against Centennial, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Knights won by a run and slipped past the Chargers 6-5. For the Knights, this counts as revenge for the 12-0 victory the Chargers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Cici Robinson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five runs (all of which were unearned) on seven hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Addison Morrissey, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April.

Richwoods' win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-16. As for Centennial, they dropped their record down to 5-13 with the loss, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Richwoods will take on Springfield at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Centennial, they will venture away from home to face off against Rantoul at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
