Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Magnolia

Magnolia entered their tilt with Santa Ana Valley on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They never let the Falcons get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Sentinels, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Not much got past Blake Jaques, who gave up just three hits and racked up six Ks to keep Santa Ana Valley off the board. Jaques also tossed a walk, which is notable because Magnolia is 3-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 1-2 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Joseph Mendoza was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

Magnolia now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Santa Ana Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.

Magnolia didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 8-2 loss against Artesia on the 25th. As for Santa Ana Valley, they have also already played their next contest, a 9-2 defeat against Saddleback on the 25th.
