Basketball Recap: Morrow Gets the Win

If Banneker wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Morrow, they should've done a better job of containing Jameel Brown. The Morrow Mustangs strolled past the Banneker Trojans with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 72-58 thanks in part to Brown, who posted 18 points. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of O'Neil Bruce, who scored nine points. Those nine points gave him a new career-high.

Morrow's win bumped their record up to 7-14. As for Banneker, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Langston Hughes the next time they take the court. Morrow will head out to face Langston Hughes at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Banneker will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
