Baseball Recap: Friday's Win Is Frankfort's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

Frankfort lost to Lincoln back in April of 2016, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Falcons put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 14-1 win. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by eight runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Blake Jacobs, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Julian Pattison, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Frankfort lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Frankfort has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games. As for Lincoln, they dropped their record down to 8-7 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Frankfort has already played their next game, a 6-0 defeat against Robert C. Byrd on the 18th. As for Lincoln, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 4-3 loss against The Linsly School on the 18th.
