It was a proper cat-fight when Mount Pleasant faced off against Central Academy of Technology & Arts on Tuesday. The Tigers had just enough and edged out the Cougars 6-5. The Tigers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cougars, too.

Eli VonCannon was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Mount Pleasant has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for Central Academy of Technology & Arts, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.

Mount Pleasant and Central Academy of Technology & Arts could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. The Tigers will take on West Rowan at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (286 vs. 30). Meanwhile, Central Academy of Technology & Arts (ranked 306th) will meet Charlotte Latin (ranked 132nd) at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
