Soccer Game Preview: Cleburne vs. Joshua

Cleburne and Joshua are an even 4-4-2 against one another since January of 2020, but likely not for long. The Cleburne Yellowjackets will head out to square off against the Joshua Owls at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Cleburne is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They and Centennial finished up their match with a 2-2 draw on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Yellowjackets as the team haven't won a game since January 3rd.

Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous four contests, Joshua brought some dynamite into their most recent game. Everything went their way against Mansfield Timberview on Friday as Joshua made off with a 4-1 victory. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 3-0.

Joshua hit Mansfield Timberview with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Cayden Howard (2), Carson Kilcoin, and Jack Ellis.

With the win, Joshua broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-4. With that draw, Cleburne's record moves to 1-3-4.

Cleburne skirted past Joshua 3-2 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cleburne since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
