Soccer Game Preview: Lake Worth vs. Burkburnett

The Lake Worth Bullfrogs will be defending their home pitch for the first time this season when they go up against the Burkburnett Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Lake Worth is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to four goals on Saturday, they were much more limited against Graham on Wednesday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Steers. While losing is never fun, the Bullfrogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 509th, while the Steers are ranked 174th).

Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, Burkburnett brought some dynamite into their most recent game. Their defense stepped up to hand Sweetwater a 6-0 shutout on Tuesday. The score was close at the half, but the Bulldogs pulled away in the second half with five goals.

Lake Worth has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5-1 record this season. As for Burkburnett, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5-1.
