Softball Recap: Enochs Extends Winning Streak to Five

Enochs had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Downey Knights with a sharp 10-0 victory. The matchup marked the Eagles' most dominant win of the season so far.

Enochs got a great performance from Soraya Mendoza as she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Mendoza has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Camila Ramirez Quintana was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while going 4-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Lillian Camarena, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Enochs was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Downey only posted a batting average of .167.

Enochs pushed their record up to 7-3 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Downey, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12.

Coming up, Enochs will head out on the road to take on Modesto at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Modesto is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season. As for Downey, they will venture away from home to square off against Gregori at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
